Description
The Juneau International Airport is seeking two individuals to join their custodial team!
We are a small group of building maintenance staff on the front lines of keeping the airport clean. For a large majority of people, the airport is the first place they see in Juneau. We take pride in making it as clean and safe of an environment as possible.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
This is a great job for someone looking to gain experience in building maintenance. You will learn the operation and maintenance of large janitorial equipment and how to properly clean and disinfect public areas and restrooms. You will be responsible for the airport and its grounds for several hours a day and will need to be motivated to work independently, making attendance a priority.

We operate a 24-hour operation and have staff here at all hours of the day. You will be working alone and with a team to accomplish a myriad of tasks and goals. You will be interacting with the public and airport personnel on best practices and contribute to the health and commerce of the city of Juneau.
WORKING HOURS AND LOCATION
This position will work Wednesday-Saturday 1am to 12pm. Your office would be located in the Airport Terminal.
Typical Responsibilities
You will be cleaning airport facilities and grounds. This will include vacuuming, light maintenance, and the cleaning and disinfecting of restrooms. You will be utilizing large floor cleaning equipment for tile floors as well as dusting, mopping, pressure washing, picking up and emptying trash, spot cleaning, sweeping, cleaning windows, cleaning offices and break rooms, responding to building maintenance calls, minor repair of plumbing fixtures, changing light bulbs and general cleanliness of the airport terminal building and adjacent areas. Occasional special projects of painting, meeting room set-up, and escorting contractors will be performed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
None
Experience:
Three months of janitorial and cleaning experience in commercial settings involving the use of special cleaning products such as sanitizing solutions and solvents, or carpet shampooing equipment.
Other:
A valid Drivers License at time of appointment and for continued employment.

Note for Airport Building Custodian positions:
Employment is contingent upon passing a TSA-required security check per 49 CFR 1542 and 1544 and Airport Security Program. This will require an FBI fingerprint criminal history records check. Continued employment is contingent on ability to maintain a favorable security check

This job requires the ability to lift and carry as well as maneuver 70 lbs.
