The Opportunity with McKinstry

At McKinstry, our Remote Operations Center (ROC) is redefining how building controls are delivered-remotely, intelligently, and at scale. As the Building Controls Team Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in leading a high-impact Remote Operations Controls team and overseeing ROC controls contracts that support some of our most complex and strategic client environments.

This role blends people leadership, technical depth, and operational excellence. You'll guide the day-to-day performance of the ROC controls team while helping shape how our remote controls services evolve, scale, and deliver consistent value across regions. From supporting complex integrations to developing future leaders, you'll help turn strategy into execution-and execution into repeatable success.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

Lead and inspire a Remote Operations Controls team, setting clear expectations, priorities, and performance standards
Partner with the Senior Program Manager to plan resources and ensure client scopes are delivered efficiently and effectively
Act as a technical and operational escalation point, supporting complex projects and cross-team coordination
Drive scope clarity, quality assurance, and delivery excellence across ROC controls contracts
Support business development efforts by providing context, technical insight, and continuity-helping strengthen partnerships and long-standing client relationships
Coordinate resources and workflows across regions, ensuring the right expertise is applied at the right time
Foster strong cross-regional and cross-functional collaboration within a national ROC model
Participate in limited on-call and after-hours support as part of a national escalation rotation
Develop and mentor direct reports, growing capability, ownership, and trust through increasing responsibility and leadership opportunities

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

Technical degree or Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Data, or related discipline preferred)
7-10+ years of experience in building controls, with a strong understanding of system integration strategies
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, delegate effectively, and drive accountability
Strong, proactive communicator-comfortable escalating issues and aligning stakeholders internally and externally
Proven experience balancing technical execution with people leadership
Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining delivery quality and client confidence
Solid project management skills with a track record of organized, reliable execution
Experience with people and project management systems such as PACE, Workday, Viewpoint, payroll, timesheets, and budgeting tools

The pay range for this position is $114,210 - $192,900 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
