Responsibilities
A Building & Code Compliance Inspection Supervisor oversees the inspection of construction projects to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations. They lead and support inspection staff, review reports, coordinate with contractors and officials, and address compliance issues to maintain public safety and regulatory standards. This role also involves identification of code non-compliances, oversight of said non-code compliance resolution, and mentorship of reporting staff. Present a positive customer service attitude and understanding of ECS Core Values.

Required Qualifications
10 years of related experience
High school diploma or GED required
Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
Maintain the Code Principles and Practices Program certification and a minimum of 4 ICC commercial inspection certification(s) (or corresponding equivalent with other certification institutions) in commercial building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and/or life safety with requisite continuing education credits OR is a licensed design professional (i.e., Professional Engineer or Registered Architect. Additional licenses may be required depending on the state in which you work.
Certifications are required for all types of testing performed. All applicable certifications are required in accordance with the ECS Certification and Pay Policy.

If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
Experience in code compliance inspections of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems
Detail-oriented and well organized
Self-motivated and responsible
Strong ability to work in teams, with clients, peers, and subordinates, as well as independently
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet strict deadlines
Practical experience in conducting inspections of engineering building systems
Knowledge of IBC Building Codes
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to review plans and field construction and detect deviations from applicable codes and standard construction practices
Maintain a professional demeanor and high ethical, honest and moral standards
Strong leadership and decision making skills
