Position Summary:
Building Attendants are responsible for providing effective and courteous customer service to patrons of the Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC) and are responsible for assisting in all duties involved with daily operations. This includes the enforcement of policy and procedures, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and providing exceptional service to members and guests. Shifts will consist of 2-4 hours with rotations at the Front Desk and Fitness Loft.

Essential Functions:
• Welcome users and monitor access into the SRWC
• Verify entrance into the SRWC. This includes verifying that the patron has the proper identification & membership
• Deny access to individuals who do not qualify for SRWC entry
• Facilitate equipment check-out/in
• Monitor members in designated areas of the building to ensure safety and well-being during participation
• Assist and inform patrons on usage and technique of equipment and machines
• Demonstrate and explain the execution of various exercise techniques to participants as well as spotting techniques when needed
• General cleaning and preventative maintenance of weight and cardio equipment
• Aid in set-up, operations, and break down of fitness classes, programs, information tables and special events
• Answer the telephone using proper phone etiquette, being as helpful and courteous as possible
• Complete specific tasks associated with front desk and fitness loft
• Perform other duties as requested
Non-Essential Functions:
• Organize, maintain, and clean SRWC areas.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to handle and lift objects up to 50lbs
Extended amounts of time walking or standing
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous customer service experience is preferred, but not required
Previous experience or knowledge in fitness, sports, or weight-room environments
Availability to work early morning, night and/or weekend hours
Current First Aid, CPR and AED certification preferred (will train)
