Join Our Team as a Product Design Specialist prepping metal for our shade-product division.

 

Yes, you read that correctly. We just believe in a work-life balance. With 15 days of paid time off (PTO) and 16 paid holidays, you will have a total of 31 days off (6+ weeks) in your first full year with us.

But wait, there's more...

We add an extra 5 days of PTO in your second year for a total of 36 days off (7+ weeks). Almost two months of paid days off.

Position Summary:

We're on the hunt for a creative, hands-on Build & Design Specialist who's passionate about turning concepts into functional, market-ready products. This is your chance to make an impact in a growing company where engineering meets imagination.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and test new outdoor home improvement products and components-from concept through production working with aluminum, vinyl, and fasteners)
  • Improve existing designs for better performance, easier manufacturing, and great appearance
  • Fabricate and assemble parts using hand and power tools, and operate shop equipment (drill presses, punch presses, etc.)
  • Create and update 3D models, drawings, and prototypes
  • Collaborate with production, installation, sales, and marketing teams to bring ideas to life
  • Research materials, suppliers, and technologies to keep us ahead of the curve
  • Maintain safe, clean work areas and uphold Craft-Bilt's high quality standards
  • Occasionally travel to dealer sites or training seminars

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in product design, fabrication, carpentry, or related trades
  • Strong mechanical and design aptitude with an eye for detail and craftsmanship
  • Comfortable using CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar) and hand/power tools
  • Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes (especially aluminum, vinyl, and fasteners)
  • A creative problem-solver who thrives on turning ideas into real, functional products
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
