BSA and Fraud Specialist

The BSA Specialist is part of a three person team that is responsible for the investigation of fraudulent, illegal, or improper activities by internal or external means, and the prevention and the recovery of losses sustained by such activities. This team is part of a larger Operations department. Team members connect daily, virtually and in person, to support one another through complex fraud investigations, during high demand, and special projects.
Function and Responsibilities
The BSA and Fraud Specialist monitors high risk or suspicious accounts, through cases and tasks within the BSA/AML software. Investigate all suspicious or unusual activity referred to by Branhes, other departments, and submit to the BSA Officer for review. Educate staff to identify and respond to potential fraudulent situations to ensure minimal loss to the credit union. Escalate issues to appropriate levels of management. Prepare necessary CTR and SAR reports and submit to BSA Officer. Review and process return check items for collections, fraud review, etc.
Salary $25-$26 hr.
Experience & Education
One to three years of similar or related experience. High school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
