Join us. **Job Description** The **AECOM** North Carolina Transportation team is seeking a **Bridge Inspector Team Lead** to join our growing structural and transportation group located in Raleigh, NC. This role will support the planning, analysis, design, and rehabilitation of bridges and related transportation structures across a variety of public-sector projects. + Performing field inspections in accordance with National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and local agency requirements. Estimated 8-10 days of travel per month within North Carolina and neighboring states + Overseeing inspection teams in the field, including mentoring and training of junior staff on inspection methodologies and best practices + Completing Quality Control reviews on inspection reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards + Completing Load Ratings for in-service and new bridges in accordance with applicable codes and specifications + Performing structural design of new and rehabilitated bridges using industry-standard software and analysis tools + Preparing comprehensive inspection reports and technical documentation for submission to client agencies and stakeholders + Coordinating with public-sector agencies, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives and timelines are met + Ensuring compliance with all applicable safety protocols, regulations, and OSHA requirements during field operations + Performing specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer + Gathering and correlating basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures + Working on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests + Proposing approaches to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments + Identifying discrepancies in results and recommending corrective actions + Providing guidance and professional development support to entry-level engineers + Performing work in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules with minimal supervision + Independently performing all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + BA/BS degree plus 4 years of related experience, or AS Degree plus 6 years of related experience, or HS/GED plus 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency and/or education + Valid US Driver’s License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review + FHWA / NHI Safety Inspection of In-service Bridges + Position requires frequent travel to project and field locations.
