Bridge Design Project Engineer IIIPosition based in AECOM's Phoenix, AZ office.This full‑time role supports AECOM's bridge practice from the Phoenix team location and involves transportation structure design analysis, including plan preparation of structures in Arizona and contributing to projects throughout the Western U.S. The ongoing SR30 bridge design project will be a key focus. The engineer will participate in a variety of challenging projects within a dynamic work environment due to the number, type and size of bridges in the portfolio.Job ResponsibilitiesPrepare structural designs, plans, specifications and cost estimates for transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures.Provide load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts and structure type analysis evaluations.Use current engineering design software.Coordinate with other design teams and disciplines.Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment under an experienced engineer.Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well‑defined procedures.Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered.Identify discrepancies in results.Provide guidance to entry‑level engineers.Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.Minimum RequirementsBS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.PE licensure.Ability to pass MVR check.Preferred QualificationsProfessional engineering related work environment with heavy emphasis on design of highway bridges.BS, MS and 4+ years of related experience.Knowledge of industry standard computer software such as Civil3D, Microstation, LEAP Bridge Concrete, MDX, CSiBridge, STAAD, AASHTOWare, etc.Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, develop technical reports and document client communications.Additional InformationNo relocation offered with this opportunity.Sponsorship is not offered for this position now or in the future.Equal Opportunity EmployerAs an Equal Opportunity Employer, we believe in your potential and are here to help you achieve it.
