POSITION DUTIES

Got your attention? If interested our Taxpayer Services Division is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to manage the staff at our Hagerstown Branch Office.
The main purpose of this job is to manage the operations of the Hagerstown branch office of the Taxpayer Services Division in the Comptroller of Maryland''s agency.
This position plans, organizes, and directs or assists in the direction of the operational work of subordinate staff, for the Hagerstown Branch Office for the Comptroller of Maryland.
Responsibilities also include; answering inquiries and complaints from taxpayers, the general public, who contact the local branch office by phone, in person, and through the on-line CRM application.
This position devises and implements systems and procedures for recording and the processing of payment transactions using our Trip 21 and Fairfax 5.0 systems.
This position oversees and ensures that payments received in the branch office are processed daily. Review and approve leave, as well as monitor staff coverage of the branch office. This position will prepare and assist in the preparation of daily statistical reports on the operations of the unit. They will promulgate, promote, and ensure compliance with policies, rules, regulations and procedures with the tax laws and regulations of the State.
This position is considered one of the agency''s essential emergency personnel and is to ensure that the branch office is adequately staffed during normal work hours and is available during emergency situations.
This position is not telework eligible.
PLEASE NOTE:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Six years of professional work experience in auditing, accounting, tax law, general management, or customer service. One year of this professional work experience must have involved supervising revenue administrators, accountants, or auditors, or providing legal advice requiring the interpretation of tax laws in the capacity of a tax professional, or having been in a responsible administrative or management capacity.Â

For education obtained outside of the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service.
