Branch Manager – HVAC Controls & Building Automation Distribution
Newport News, Virginia

Summary: We’re looking for a Branch Manager to oversee the daily operations and help grow our new location in the Newport News, Virginia market. This role is ideal for someone with experience managing a supply house, parts counter, wholesale branch, or distribution operation within the HVAC, controls, electrical, or mechanical industries.

Our company specializes in HVAC controls, building automation systems, and commercial mechanical solutions that support facilities across healthcare, education, government, industrial, and commercial markets. We work closely with mechanical contractors, building owners, and controls professionals by supplying products, parts, technical support, and automation solutions used to operate and optimize commercial buildings. This is not a highly technical engineering role. We’re looking for someone who understands the commercial HVAC or controls industry, enjoys building relationships with customers, and can help establish a strong local presence in the market.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Newport News branch
  • Support contractors, facility teams, and customers with parts, orders, and general product support
  • Manage counter sales, incoming calls, and customer service activities
  • Coordinate inventory, shipping/receiving, purchasing, and branch organization
  • Work closely with leadership and sales teams to support branch growth and customer development
  • Help recruit, train, and lead branch personnel as the office expands
  • Build long-term relationships within the local HVAC and building automation market
  • Assist with quotes, order tracking, vendor coordination, and operational support

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience managing a branch, store, warehouse, counter sales team, or distribution operation
  • Background in HVAC, building automation, controls, mechanical systems, electrical supply, or industrial distribution preferred
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to operate independently and wear multiple hats in a growing branch environment
  • Organized, dependable, and motivated to help grow a new location
  • Experience with inventory management, purchasing, or inside sales support is a plus
  • General understanding of commercial HVAC systems or building controls preferred, but deep technical expertise is not required
