Job Overview & Essential Functions

Murphy-Hoffman Company LLC is North Americas largest Kenworth truck Dealership and Leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Branch Manager. The role of the Branch Manager is to be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Branchs operations in compliance with established policies and procedures.

Plans, directs, and controls all activities of the branch profit centers through department managers who, in turn, are responsible for the overall growth and profit objectives of their respective department. Staffs and trains department managers as required. Formulate the major objectives, specific policies, plans, procedures, and programs for the branch operations. Work closely with department managers to convert broad programs to specific plans, provide assistance to department managers in the development of their specific performance targets, programs, and plans in accordance with Company goals and objectives.

Evaluate each departments operating results and performance against pre-determined objectives. Consult with department managers regarding personnel decisions and assist department managers with major target or critical accounts. Assess present and future needs, trends, problems, and profit opportunities of the branch. Establish short and long-term operating and financial objectives for assigned branch within the Companys overall plans and policies.

Ensure that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied throughout assigned branch. Formulate annual and monthly business plan, sales-profit objectives, and expense budgets with department manager, which are in accordance with the Companys objectives. Develop merchandising strategies with the department managers to ensure that objectives are obtained. Supervise the sale of trucks, parts, and service. Ensure the branch is in compliance with local, state, and federal governmental regulations.

Maintain appropriate communications within and between various departments and functional areas within the branch. Hold individual conferences as required. Establish and maintain satisfactory customer and public relations, final arbitrator between customers and department managers when the need arises. Develop and train department managers and review and appraise their performance. Recommend compensation changes in accordance with company policy.

Ensure the organizational structure of the branch is efficiently planned and adequately and competently staffed. Promote safe work habits and ensure that safety rules are followed.

Qualifications

Requires previous management experience. Requires thorough knowledge of all phases of branch operations. Prefer direct truck sales experience. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Requires strong leadership ability and decision-making skills.
