Neenah Joint School District is currently accepting applications for a boys' JV2 soccer coach.

Job Summary:

The JV2 coach is responsible for planning, directing and leading an education based athletic program that seeks to develop the whole student athlete.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet the head coaching requirements of NJSD and WIAA.
  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Knowledge in the sport of soccer
  • Ability to work effectively with groups and individuals
  • Ability to analyze problems and make decisions
  • CPR, AED & First Aid Certified (within one year)
  • Licensed Teacher (preferred)
  • Experience in coaching and/or competing in an education based athletic program (preferred)
  • Other soccer coaching certifications (preferred)

Job Goal:

To accept the responsibility of the program and work with the student athletes and assistant coaches in the sport assigned to provide life lessons that will positively impact the physical, social, and emotional well being of all who are involved. Provide leadership of the entire boys soccer program in coordination with the Varsity head coach (youth through high school). All coaches are responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of every student-athlete participating in the program. Coaches should encourage and promote multi-sport participation within the school district.

Responsibilities:

  • Accept and implement the co-curricular philosophy of Neenah High School
  • Follows rules and regulations of the school, conference, and the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA)
  • Complete the WIAA Rules Video and Exam yearly
  • Maintain membership in the appropriate coaches associations and participate so our school has representation.
  • Attend camps, clinics, seminars, and in-service programs in order to improve coaching skills and stay current with new trends in coaching, training, and safety procedures
  • Attend school, conference and WIAA coaches meetings if necessary
  • Supervise all practice sessions and games in conjunction with head coaches (Varsity/JV)
  • Supervise all student-athletes participating in the program at all times (locker rooms, practices, events, bus rides, etc.)
  • Assures that the program will reflect proper attitude and conduct at all times
  • Supervise use of equipment in your sport
  • Participate in an end of the season information and evaluation session with the head Varsity coach
  • Regularly inspect equipment and facilities to insure the safety of each student athlete.
  • Provide proper instruction of the sport, and develop and maintain current knowledge
  • Provide leadership of the program for all levels and work to develop continuity between the community and school programs
  • Work with the Varsity head coach to determine goals and direction of the program
  • Appropriate communication with administration, coaching staff, team, and parents
  • Assist with the boys varsity soccer team on game days
  • Participate in pre and post season meetings with the Activities Director. The postseason meeting will serve as an evaluation conference
  • Encourage participation in sports and other co-curricular activities other than his/her own
  • Encourage participation in strength and conditioning programs throughout the year
  • Represent the school in a professional manner in demeanor, language, and conduct
  • Have fun and build positive relationships
  • All other duties as assigned by the Activities Director & Varsity head coach
