Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Bond Account Manager to join our Commercial Insurance team. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial surety accounts, providing exceptional client service, coordinating bond requests, and serving as the primary liaison between clients, producers, and surety carriers. The ideal candidate has experience in commercial surety, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced agency environment.

Key Responsibilities
Manage and service a book of commercial surety accounts.
Process and issue a variety of bonds, including:
Bid Bonds
Performance Bonds
Payment Bonds
License & Permit Bonds
Maintenance Bonds
Court Bonds
Fidelity Bonds
Miscellaneous Surety Bonds
Review bond requests for completeness and accuracy.
Prepare bond applications and supporting documentation.
Coordinate with surety underwriters to obtain approvals and negotiate bond terms.
Review contractor financial statements, work-in-progress schedules, and bond program requirements.
Monitor bond lines, aggregate limits, and expiration dates.
Maintain electronic bond files and agency management system documentation.
Respond promptly to client and producer inquiries regarding bond status and requirements.
Assist producers with new business opportunities and existing client bond programs.
Prepare renewal documentation and maintain continuous bond coverage.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, surety carriers, and underwriters.
Ensure compliance with agency procedures, carrier guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
3+ years of commercial surety/bond account management experience preferred.
Property & Casualty License preferred (or ability to obtain).
Experience working for an independent insurance agency or brokerage.
Strong understanding of commercial surety underwriting principles.
Knowledge of contractor financial statements and bonding capacity is highly desirable.
Experience with agency management systems such as Applied EPIC, AMS360, Sagitta, or Applied TAM.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Preferred Experience
Construction industry insurance experience.
Contract surety and commercial surety expertise.
Experience working with national and regional surety carriers.
Familiarity with public works projects and government contract bonding.
Knowledge of indemnity agreements and contractor prequalification.
