Role Overview
We are looking for a meticulous Body Shop Estimator to join the dynamic team at Mocks Body and Paint. In this in-person role, you will utilize your expertise in collision repair estimating to assess damage, prepare accurate estimates, and ensure customer satisfaction while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to assess damage and determine repair needs, utilizing advanced estimating software and tools
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates, including parts, labor, and paint costs, while ensuring compliance with insurance guidelines
- Collaborate closely with technicians and management to streamline repair processes and enhance operational efficiency
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear explanations of repairs, estimates, and timelines
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, repair techniques, and insurance protocols to ensure accurate and effective estimates
- Work on-site with insurance adjusters and clients to resolve discrepancies and negotiate repair costs as necessary
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Body Shop Estimator or in a similar role within the automotive repair industry
- Proficient in using estimating software, such as CCC One or Mitchell, with a strong understanding of repair methodologies
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
Preferred:
- Icar certification or equivalent industry-recognized qualification
- Experience in a dealership environment or high-volume body shop
- Knowledge of insurance processes and the ability to work with different insurance carriers
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in collision repair estimating software and related technologies
- Strong understanding of automotive repair processes, including structural and non-structural repairs
- Familiarity with OEM specifications and guidelines for repairs
