Think try and thrive with us in collaborative work environments that spark game-changing concepts.Job OverviewResponsible for restoring vehicle surfaces to OEM finish standards using advanced automotive refinish techniques. This role supports final quality by identifying repairing and refinishing paint defects using both single-stage and basecoatclearcoat solvent-based systems. The technician must be capable of working independently and within a team environment to ensure all vehicles meet Mercedes-Benz quality expectations prior to release.ResponsibilitiesPerform automotive paint rework to restore vehicle surfaces to OEM finish standardsSpray and blend automotive coatings including single-stage and basecoatclearcoat solvent-based systems Spot rework or large panel paint experience required with proper blend techniquesIdentify diagnose and repair paint defects such as runs sags dirt scratches and coverage issuesPrepare vehicle surfaces for refinishing including sanding masking cleaning and conditioningMix and prepare paint materials according to manufacturer specifications and process requirementOperate and maintain spray equipment including spray guns air systems and related toolsEnsure proper film build color match and overall finish qualityPerform polishing buffing and final finishing operations as requiredFollow all safety procedures including mandatory respirator use during all spray applicationsMaintain a clean and organized work area including booth and equipment upkeepTroubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat defectsWork collaboratively with production quality and engineering teams to resolve concernsSupport continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimizationAccurately document rework activity and follow standard work instructionsPerform other duties as assigned Qualifikationen Qualifications•High School Diploma or GED required•5 years of automotive paintrefinish experience preferred•Experience with automotive spray applications solvent-based systems required•Manufacturing or production paint environment experience preferredKnowledge & Skills•Strong knowledge of automotive refinish processes and paint systems•Experience with spray gun setup adjustment and maintenance•Ability to perform color matching and blending techniques•Understanding of surface preparation and defect correction methods•Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and within a team•Knowledge of safety standards related to paint and chemical handling•Familiarity with OEM quality standards preferred•ASE B2 Certification or equivalent is a plus•Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs. independently•Required to wear appropriate PPE including respirators during paint application•Ability to stand bend and work in a production environment for extended periods•Work performed in paint booths and industrial manufacturing settings.We are all in for change.
