Salary: $90,000 - $105,000 per year
A bit about us:This is an established, privately held human-services provider with more than 25 years of experience supporting people with complex behavioral and developmental needs. Its New Jersey programs provide day habilitation, residential services, and behavioral supports for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Recent local employee feedback points to meaningful client relationships, strong coworker connections, and positive organizational changes. The honest sell is not that every workplace frustration magically disappears. It is a stable weekday schedule, work with a clear purpose, and the opportunity to influence how individuals experience their homes, programs, relationships, and communities.
This is not a write-the-plan-and-disappear position. You will assess, build, train, monitor, and revise. If your current role limits you to one small piece of the clinical process, this position gives you considerably more ownership. The work is complex enough without turning every behavior-plan update into a carrier-pigeon exercise.
Why join us?- $90,000–$105,000 base salary—a range designed to attract qualified BCBAs rather than simply meeting the lowest point in the market
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM—a predictable daytime schedule without listed evening or weekend requirements
- Own the clinical process from the initial assessment through plan development, implementation, training, monitoring, and reassessment
- Work with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities whose daily independence, relationships, and community participation can improve because of your recommendations
- Develop practical behavior plans that caregivers and support teams can actually use—not plans that look impressive in a binder and disappear onto a shelf
- Train and supervise caregivers and behavioral aides, allowing your clinical work to continue beyond the assessment itself
- Health insurance for eligible employees beginning on the 90th day of employment
- Dental and vision coverage for eligible employees after six months of employment
- Access to a 401(k) retirement plan for eligible employees
- Paid time off is available; the supplied benefits information states that director-classified employees may accrue up to 25 days annually, including five required New Jersey sick days
[Confirm that this BCBA position qualifies for the director-level PTO plan before publishing.]
- Complete at least 12 hours of professional development annually, helping you maintain and strengthen your clinical knowledge
- Receive structured training in crisis management, abuse and neglect prevention, Positive Behavior Supports, and other specialized areas required by the individuals you support
- Collaborate with caregivers, behavioral aides, program staff, and interdisciplinary team members rather than developing plans in a clinical vacuum
- Full-time employees working at least 40 hours per week become eligible for employer-provided life insurance after three years of continuous service
Job DetailsWHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments, including functional behavior assessments, to identify the purpose and contributing factors behind challenging behaviors
- Develop individualized behavior support and modification plans with measurable goals and clear criteria for improvement
- Implement, monitor, and periodically reassess behavioral interventions based on individual progress, direct observation, and behavioral data
- Train and supervise caregivers, behavioral aides, and support staff responsible for carrying out each person’s behavioral plan
- Provide behavior-analytic consultation and collaborate on service planning while maintaining compliance with New Jersey DDD and Community Care Program requirements
SKILLS YOU NEED
- Required: Active New Jersey Licensed Behavior Analyst license, or eligibility and willingness to obtain the license before independently practicing behavior analysis in New Jersey
- Required: Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification in good standing
- Required: Valid, non-probationary New Jersey driver’s license with an acceptable motor-vehicle record; ability to complete required criminal, CARI, Central Registry, drug, physical, and tuberculosis screenings
- Preferred: Experience conducting functional behavior assessments and developing behavior support plans for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities
