Summary:
The BMET Operations Manager will leverage their knowledge to orchestrate a seamless nationwide BMET program. This position will ensure all Federal, State, local, DoD, and PWS guidance are strictly adhered to. This individual is responsible for overseeing and directing BMET work across 150+ Air Force and Air National Guard sites ensuring the quality of the work performed meets the requirements of the customer.
Responsibilities:Essential Job Functions:
- Performs duties as a Lead and or Supervisor for BMET level III.
- Manages the overall BMET training program.
- Provides technical expertise, recommendations, and written solutions to the ECMM Operations Manager.
- Analyzes data, identifies areas of improvement, and tracks all projects to completion.
- Synthesis solutions to problems, formulates plans and monitors execution.
- Briefs the ECMM Program Manager, Air Force and Air National Guard CORs on the status of the BMET program.
- Requires an advanced understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, planning work schedules, selecting tools and test instruments, and understanding compliance with maintenance instructions and technical directives.
- Calibrates medical equipment according to manufacturers' technical literature, pertinent federal regulations, national standards, state and local laws, and Air Force guidance.
- Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining malfunctions and applies skill in restoring equipment operations.
- Applies electrical, electronic, optical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and physiological principles to diagnose and locate system malfunctions.
- Uses test equipment, technical data, engineering drawings, schematics, and reference materials for troubleshooting and repair of medical equipment.
- Performs authorized modifications to biomedical equipment.
- Performs all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Demonstrated knowledge in managing: initial inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, maintenance, life cycle management, repair of medical equipment, equipment acquisition and understanding of inventory management, and DoD medical logistics support instructions, policies, and regulations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience using Microsoft products.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience utilizing the DOD Medical Material Information System (MMIS) and other operational support systems.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills that result in clear, concise, and positive communications.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding and working knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train, mentor and supervise a large staff across multiple sites.
- Ability to operate various materials handling equipment.
- Ability to utilize & update DoD MMIS records.
- Have strong knowledge and ability to execute BMET I, II, and III duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Accredited Bachelor’s degree.
- Must have graduated from The DoD Biomedical Maintenance Course or an accredited Biomedical Maintenance Course.
- Minimum 10 years of field experience (minimum of four years as a level III BMET) in managing: initial inspections, calibrations, diagnostics, maintenance, life cycle management, repair of medical equipment, equipment acquisition, and safety within Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidance and local/state/federal regulations.
- Up to 30% Travel is required.
- Must be a US citizen
- Clearance: public trust with the ability to obtain secret.
