A day in the life
- Start the day reviewing CMMS assignments, safety notes, and overnight alarms.
- Walk down mechanical and utility rooms, checking electrical distribution, HVAC, plumbing, boilers, compressors, pumps, and other facility utility systems that support laboratory, office, and manufacturing operations.
- Diagnose and resolve issues on the spot—then document all preventive, corrective, and emergency work in the CMMS.
- Respond quickly to equipment alarms, breakdowns, and facility emergencies to restore safe operations in a regulated environment.
Where this role sits
This position reports to the Facilities Manager and is part of the Facilities and Production Equipment team.
What you’ll tackle
- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on MEP systems within a laboratory facility environment.
- Conduct routine inspections; flag and address maintenance needs; complete accurate CMMS records for full traceability.
- Support a safe, compliant operation by responding to utility and facility issues with urgency and sound judgment.
What you bring
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 5 years of experience as a facilities or skilled trades maintenance technician in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
- Hands-on capability in at least two of the following areas: electrical systems, HVAC‑R, plumbing/pipefitting, boilers/steam systems, wastewater systems, pumps, controls, or RODI/WFI.
Bonus points
- Building Management System familiarity (Metasys preferred).
- Prior laboratory facility experience.
- CMMS proficiency (Infor EAM preferred).

Compensation and benefits
The hourly range for this role is $32–35. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting and may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
