Summary:

The objective of this contractor hiring is to ensure all equipment maintenance procedures and processes can be performed within a reasonable timeframe and ensure that all services are performed within the designated timelines put forth by MRDC and all other regulating agencies.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Acceptance testing, periodic maintenance and repair, and turn-in evaluations on all medical and laboratory equipment entering and leaving the USAMRIID facility to include buildings 1425, 1412, 1430, 1301 and the new facility building 8100. Approximate number of pieces of equipment/items will vary per week. Enter all durable and non-expendable equipment administrative information into the DMLSS system.
  • Verification of the appropriate maintenance activity will be confirmed in DMLSS. Approximate number of pieces of equipment/items will vary per week.
  • Perform electrical safety tests in accordance with NFPA 99 and TB Med 750-1, as appropriate. Enter all durable and non-expendable equipment administrative information into the DMLSS system.   • Coordinate with vendor on all vendor installed equipment. Approximate number of vendor contacts will vary per week.
  • Follow up on any and all missing or broken items of equipment, as appropriate. Approximate number of missing or broken parts will vary per week.
  • Coordinate with customer for installation, repair, and maintenance. Update DMLSS as appropriate. Approximate number of contacts will vary per week.
  • Assist with properly disposing of and in accordance with all regulations governing disposal of medical maintenance equipment and items. Disposal will vary month to month.
  • Use forklifts and pallet jacks as required (Training certification is required for both pieces of equipment).
  • May need to cover weekend work to reduce backlog in Scheduled and/or Unscheduled maintenance.
  • May need to work additional hours to support taskers or operations orders that may temporarily increase workload.
Qualifications:

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience with MS Office Suite DMLSS Experience.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum five (5) or more years of related experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • T3 Secret (National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)
  • To be classified as a Biomedical Equipment Repairer at minimum one of the criteria listed below must apply IAW SB 8-75-11:
    • Must be a graduate of the military/ DOD Biomedical Equipment Specialist/Technician course.
    • Must be a graduate of a Biomedical Equipment Technician course from an accredited college.
    • Biomedical Engineer with a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university.
    • Contractor personnel with documented factory training.
    • Qualified military, civilian, and contractor personnel are the only personnel authorized to perform maintenance of Army owned medical/research devices and medical/research device systems.
    • Able to pass BPRP.
  • BPRP enrollment is required and will be held and maintained IAW the provisions in this contract and all applicable regulations.
  • Must be able to work in containment unescorted.

 

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $80,000 annually.
