Our team is hiring a Biomedical Equipment Lead Technician to support Warehouse Support Services for the Navy Medical Readiness Logistics Command (NMRLC) in Williamsburg, VA.
The Biomedical Equipment Lead Technician provides technical leadership and oversight for biomedical equipment maintenance, inspection, repair, calibration, and readiness activities in support of the Navy Medical Readiness Logistics Command (NMRLC) Warehouse Support Services Program. This role oversees daily biomedical maintenance operations, ensures compliance with applicable standards and procedures, and supports mission readiness through effective coordination, documentation, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
+Lead and oversee daily biomedical equipment maintenance, inspection, repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance activities.
+ Serve as the technical lead for biomedical operations, providing direction, prioritization, and quality oversight for assigned biomedical technicians and maintenance activities.
+ Ensure medical equipment, systems, and related documentation meet applicable technical standards, safety requirements, and operational readiness expectations.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of complex biomedical equipment and systems, including escalation-level maintenance issues.
- Review, validate, and maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, calibration data, and asset documentation within applicable maintenance management systems (e.g., DMLSS).
+ Coordinate biomedical maintenance activities with logistics, warehouse, and administrative teams to support mission requirements and operational timelines.
+ Monitor equipment condition, identify maintenance trends or risks, and recommend corrective actions or process improvements to enhance reliability and readiness.
+ Ensure proper handling, accountability, and lifecycle tracking of medical equipment, tools, test equipment, and technical resources.
- Support equipment staging, preparation, and readiness activities for storage, issue, deployment, or redistribution as required.
- Train, mentor, and support biomedical personnel to maintain technical proficiency, compliance, and consistent performance.
- Participate in inspections, audits, inventories, and special tasking related to medical equipment readiness and sustainment.
- Support surge requirements, contingencies, and mission‑critical biomedical tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
+ Successful completion of a Department of Defense (DoD) Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) training program OR an Associate Degree in Biomedical Electronics Technology or Electronics Technology
+ US citizenship, Valid US Driver’s license; ability to (or obtain post-hire to drive stand-up and 4-6K forklift)
+ Experience with Database Management Systems – e.g. DMLSS
+ Minimum 5 years of biomedical equipment maintenance experience, including supervisory experience
+ Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of medical equipment
+ Strong leadership, documentation, and communication skills
Security Requirements
Valid Driver’s License; All NMRLC contractor employees must be U.S. citizens and maintain a favorable federal suitability determination (typically NACI with SF‑85/SF‑85P) sufficient to obtain and retain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC) for installation, system, and facility access. Continued eligibility is required throughout contract performance, and loss of CAC or suitability status may result in removal from the contract.
Preferred Certifications and Qualifications
Experience supporting DoD or Navy logistics operations, particularly medical or expeditionary logistics
Familiarity with NMRLC processes, warehouse operations, or medical readiness workflows
Experience with Lean, 5S, or other process improvement methodologies
Prior experience working with government equipment, medical assemblages, or readiness support missions
Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET), Certified Healthcare Technology Manager (CHTM)
