Job Summary:
Performs entry-level biomedical engineering duties to support safe, reliable, and effective operation of medical equipment used in patient care and clinical services. Troubleshoots, repairs, inspects, calibrates, tests, and maintains equipment while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Education and Experience Required:
Degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) and one (1) year of work experience in biomedical technology or healthcare electronics.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and the fundamentals of electricity, electronics, and solid-state devices. Knowledge of biomedical equipment and functions. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions. Ability to comply with safety, environmental, and infections control standards and practices. Ability to maintain files and records. Employees working in dialysis departments must be able to discern color differences for water testing.

Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, constant handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, constant exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, frequent activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, frequent work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, frequent bending, occasional lifting and carrying more than 100 pounds, constant pushing/pulling, constant reaching, constant sitting, constant standing, and constant walking (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more).
