Job Title: Biologist II
Location: Irvine, CA (100% Onsite)
Pay Rate: $39 - $41/hr
Duration: 6 Months+ (Likely Extension)
Support the production, testing, inventory management, and supply of Master, Working, Development, and Analytical Cell Banks for clinical and commercial manufacturing. Perform cell culture, cryopreservation, analytical testing, and cell bank release activities in a GMP/GDP-compliant laboratory environment. Responsibilities include routine cell culture quality testing, bioassays, inventory management, technical documentation, SOP and batch record support, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and materials.
BS or MS degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline
Biologist II: BS with 3+ years or MS with 1+ years of relevant experience
Biologist III: BS with 5+ years or MS with 3+ years of relevant experience
Mammalian cell culture and aseptic processing techniques
Cell passaging, cell banking, cryopreservation, and media preparation
GMP and GDP-compliant laboratory operations
qPCR, cell-based bioassays, sterility testing, and mycoplasma detection
Cell culture optimization and troubleshooting
Genetic stability analysis and analytical testing
Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratory practices
Cell culture instrumentation including cell counters, microscopes, centrifuges, and cryopreservation systems
Technical documentation, batch records, laboratory notebooks, and SOP authoring/review
Data analysis and interpretation of biological assay results
Cell therapy or gene therapy experience
Process validation and commercial biologics manufacturing support
Master Cell Bank (MCB) and Working Cell Bank (WCB) production and release
Regulatory submission support within biologics environments
