The Science Team at Pride Health is currently supporting a client in the Medical Devices industry that is looking to hire Bio-Medical Equipment Repair Technician in San Antonio, TX.

Position Summary:

As a Bio-Medical Equipment Repair Technician will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, testing, and supporting medical vacuum (VAC) equipment in a depot repair environment. This role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team to meet quality and productivity expectations.

Additional Details:

Pay range: $20 - $25/hour on W2 as per your experience

Contract Length: 6 Months with the possibility of extension

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs, upgrades, retrofits, preventive maintenance, and software updates on medical VAC equipment used by internal and external customers.
  • Repair and service a minimum of one to two medical VAC product lines.
  • Conduct post-repair functional testing and accurately document results on device history records and checklist forms.
  • Record spare part usage and maintain traceability in designated electronic repair systems and supporting documentation.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and prepare accurate repair quotations for customer-owned medical VAC equipment.
  • Perform offline repair and processing of spare components, including pumps, hanger arms, touchscreens, and other assemblies as assigned.
  • Support projects involving testing hardware, software updates, product conversions, rework activities, and other cross-functional initiatives.
  • Conduct salvage and recovery activities for medical VAC equipment and spare parts to support business objectives.
  • Meet established production performance metrics, including productivity, repair costs, and first-pass yield targets.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, code of conduct, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
  • Participate in daily operational meetings with site leadership.
  • Communicate repair challenges, technical concerns, and process improvement opportunities to supervisory personnel in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field;

OR

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of two (2) years of combined experience in manufacturing, electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic assembly/repair within a private, public, government, or military environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with soldering and desoldering electronic components and equipment.
  • Experience servicing, repairing, or manufacturing medical devices or working in a production environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and self-motivation skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electromechanical systems and interpret technical documentation.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
