My client, a provider of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services for existing and new buildings to Architects, Owners, Property Managers and the construction industry with a focus on supporting the architectural industry. They provide corrective design services for building deficiencies, as well as construction support services to ensure proper implementation.

I am looking for an individual with an enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic to work with MEP engineers and designers in producing designs in Revit. Work efforts would include receiving architectural and structural Revit models from architects and preparing them for insertion into our MEP/FP models, creation and configuration of sheet sets and views for our deliverables, and generation of PDFs and plots for issuance to clients, as well as establishing and evolving our standards and libraries.

Required Qualifications:
  • Accredited associates degree in engineering or architecture minimum required; accredited engineering or architecture bachelor degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing in a Revit environment
  • Autodesk or other specialized Revit training preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and extraction tools and software
  • Extensive knowledge of 3D software tools
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection disciplines
  • Basic knowledge of architecture and structural engineering disciplines
  • Understanding of construction technology, construction means and methods, materials and their attributes/limitations and installation requirements
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency working in a team environment

Responsibilities:
  • Receive and configure Revit electronic files from clients for use in MEP design
  • Provide Revit mentoring and training to MEP engineering staff
  • Create Revit models for MEP systems based on designs and information generated by our MEP engineering staff
  • Identify 3D model inconsistencies and recondition data to provide accurate and usable data that reflects the intent of the design model
  • Identify conflicts, incomplete or ambiguous design information
  • Creation of a model generation library of consistent MEP components with embedded content that provides a seamless transition of data to subsequent processes of the Revit platform
  • 3D model generation/adaptation
  • Object coding and revision of attributes, detailed data extraction and tabulation of meaningful output reports providing information in a usable format for associated disciplines
  • Maintain a Revit model revision log
  • Report directly to a Division Manager of the firm
