Position Summary
Hopkins | Lacy the Mechanical Electrical Plumbing MEP Division of Branch is searching for an experienced BIM Coordinator to lead the digital coordination and modeling of our commercial and institutional projects in all three trades: mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. The BIM Coordinator serves as a key connection between design intent and field execution-ensuring models meet fabrication-level detail, facilitating trade coordination, and upholding company BIM standards. This position requires both technical excellence and leadership, mentoring BIM Technicians while driving innovation in digital construction workflows.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Coordination Lead coordination efforts across trades to produce clash-free, constructible BIM Models. Conduct and participate in coordination meetings with project managers, field foremen, and external partners. Mentor BIM Technicians to ensure compliance with modeling standards and workflows. Manage BIM project startup standards, setup, and coordination schedules. Work directly with office staff and field teams to verify constructability. Support preconstruction and estimating efforts with 3D visualizations or quantity takeoffs. Create BIM-related Requests for Information (RFIs) and documentation needs.
Modeling & Deliverables Develop and manage detailed Revit models LOD 350-400 for mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. Oversee clash detection using Navisworks and manage resolution workflows. Support the generation of fabrication drawings, spool sheets, hanger layout, and Trimble Field Point files. Link BIM models to project schedules, construction sequencing, and submittal processes.
Software Aid in the implementation of supporting software for BIM. Aid in the evaluation of new BIM-related software and technologies. Stay informed on best practices for BIM, VDC technologies. Support software integration and troubleshooting Revit, Navisworks, Procore, ACC, etc.
Standards Aid in the development, implementation, and enforcement of BIM standards. Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions. Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all drawings produced. Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow process standards. Liaison for BIM process with external partners.

Travel and Supervisory Responsibility
Travel requirements are minimal and assumed to be approximately 2-7 with most taking place during the day for jobsite visits. Some overnight travel may be required.
