Billing Specialist

Position Summary:

The Billing Specialist is responsible for processing and recording progress billings and change orders.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with project managers to produce timely and accurate monthly progress billings
• Understand the job billing requirements
• Utilize the appropriate forms and electronic systems to comply with the customer's billing requirements per contract
• Process change orders
• Properly bill retention
• Understand the close out document requirements
• Accurately post all transactions into the Accounting System
• Maintain project billing files
• Supervise interns as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years of experience involving billing
• Moderate understanding of computer data systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Four (4) years of accounting experience involving billing in the construction industry
• Advanced understanding of accounting and/or accounts receivable/billing systems
