The Inbound Patient Account Services Specialist serves as a patient advocate, resolving billing questions and supporting a positive experience with empathy and efficiency. This role is part of a collaborative team focused on improving patient access to services and reimbursement.
Provide compassionate and informed support for patient billing inquiries
Assist patients with understanding insurance coverage, payment plans, and reimbursement timelines
Accurately document all interactions and follow-ups in the Revenue Cycle system
Escalate trends or recurring issues to leadership
Meet call center performance metrics (call volume, quality, and service standards)
Use MS Office tools to communicate and collaborate effectively
6+ months of healthcare billing, reimbursement, or collections experience
1+ year of experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to handle emotional situations with empathy and professionalism
Must be flexible to work shifts between 8:00am–8:00pm EST, Monday–Friday
1 year experience in pharmacy billing, infusion services, or medical collections
Experience in a call center or high-volume customer service environment
High school diploma or GED (required and verifiable)
