Our client is a nationally recognized, Am Law-ranked law firm with offices throughout the United States and internationally. Our client is seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to join their Revenue Management team. The firm offers a collaborative, fast-paced environment where employees have the opportunity to support sophisticated legal practices while advancing their careers within a respected professional services organization. Our client is looking for candidates to sit out of Miami, FL or Orlando, FL.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$32/hr - $42/hr

Position Overview:
This Billing Specialist position is responsible for the accurate preparation, review, and processing of attorney billing, while ensuring compliance with client billing guidelines and maintaining exceptional service to both attorneys and clients. The ideal candidate will have prior legal billing experience in a mid-size or large law firm and thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities of the Billing Specialist:
  • The Billing Specialist will prepare, review, edit, and process a high volume of attorney bills and invoices.
  • Generate and revise prebills while working closely with attorneys and legal assistants to resolve billing inquiries.
  • The Billing Specialist will submit invoices and accruals through electronic billing platforms in accordance with client guidelines.
  • Research and resolve billing discrepancies, accounting questions, and invoice issues.
  • Verify billing accuracy and supporting documentation before final submission.
  • Produce billing reports and assist with special projects as needed.
  • The Billing Specialist will collaborate with attorneys, finance teams, and other internal departments to ensure timely and accurate billing.
  • Maintain confidentiality while managing multiple priorities and strict billing deadlines.
Required Experience/Skills for the Billing Specialist:
  • Minimum 3 years of legal billing experience within a mid-size or large law firm.
  • Experience processing high-volume attorney billing and electronic invoices.
  • Strong understanding of legal billing processes and client billing requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Billing Specialist:
  • Experience with Aderant billing software.
  • Experience with legal collections or accounts receivable.
  • Familiarity with expense management systems such as Chrome River.
  • Experience working in a large, fast-paced law firm environment.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is a plus.
