Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

Job Schedule: Full Time

Weekly Hours: Up to 40

JOB SUMMARY

The Billing Specialist will be responsible for supporting the billing system in the review and generation of billing for reimbursement and payment of services provided through the various Anne Carlsen Center programs.

QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)

Education and/or years' experience required:

  • One year's experience in the submission of electronic medical claims.
  • Experience with the conversion of paper billing processes to electronic, development of various industry reports, and other electronic processes such as electronic remittance notification and claim clearing houses required
  • Must be familiar with patient statements, medical claims, and billing practices focused on medical billing.
  • High School Diploma

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Three or more years of experience in billing processes and procedures, denials, prior authorizations, medical terminology, referral process, and learning systems.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS and CPT coding requirements
  • Skill in proactive approach with researching issues and finding solutions, both independently and by working with others.
  • Skill in utilizing and learning various electronic platforms and systems for claim submittal.

Supervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable): This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
