Billing Specialist

The ideal candidate has a bachelors degree and 2 years of Billing experience in Costpoint, strong knowledge around various contract types (cost plus, time and materials, and fixed price contracts, etc) and strong Excel skills. Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, internal finance teams (AP, Payroll), and external stakeholders (COs, CORs) to validate billable costs, track funding, and resolve billing discrepancies.

Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group has partnered with a professional services organization to find a Billing Specialist.  As the Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, timely and compliant federal, state and local government invoices. The ideal candidate has a bachelors degree and 2 years of Billing experience in Costpoint, strong knowledge around various contract types (cost plus, time and materials, and fixed price contracts, etc) and strong Excel skills.  You will have strong communication skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong ability to multi-task

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, reconcile, and submit complex invoices (Cost-Plus, T&M, and Fixed Price) through government portals (WAWF/iRAPT, IPP) in strict compliance with formatting and approval standards.
• Maintain audit-ready records to support DCAA, internal, and customer audits, while managing AR aging reports and collections efforts.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, internal finance teams (AP, Payroll), and external stakeholders (COs, CORs) to validate billable costs, track funding, and resolve billing discrepancies.

Qualifications/Background Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
• 2+ years of billing experience in government contracting or professional services using Deltek Costpoint.
• Understanding of indirect rate structures, provisional billing rates, and cost pools.
• Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables and lookups).

This job is Hybrid Remote.

Pay Range: Hourly $34.00 to $39.00
