The Billing and Member Services Manager is responsible for managing the member services, billing and communication roles of the cooperative.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee billing, cash receipts and adjustments for accuracy
  • Manage member service – phone and in-person 
  • Manage the distributed generation (DG) program
  • Manage and support key accounts 
  • Manage the energy assistance programs
  • Participate in rate cost of service (COSS) and tariff design
  •  Oversee communication & marketing plan and projects
  •  Minimize uncollectable revenue via managing execution of credit and collection procedures
  •  Oversee activity within company software (NISC) for member data, services, and support
  •  Manage marketing, sales and service of fiber internet 
  •  Manage propane subsidiary - service, sales, support, inventory, billing, and overall operation
  •  Actively participate in the planning of the DCREMC annual meeting
  •  Prepare and oversee department budgets
  •  Participate in leadership team activities including strategic planning, encouraging employees to live the vision and mission of the cooperative and supporting decisions made by the CEO and board of directors

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Create and manage department targets and goals
  • Train, schedule work, support and supervise department
  •  Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  •  Conduct performance reviews and coach staff to optimal performance

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have an equivalent of the following education and/or experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is required
  • 4 years’ experience in a billing or communication role is required
  •  Management experience is required
  •  Experience working in a cooperative is preferred
  •  Knowledge of utility industry is preferred
