Scope of Responsibility:

The Product Data Management (PDM) position is responsible for the creation and maintenance of key elements in the ERP system consisting of, but not limited to, parts and their related attributes, or Bill of Materials (BOM) & Bill of Operations (BOO) requirements, and creation and maintenance of jobs throughout their lifecycle in the ERP system. Position also consists of providing ERP system related guidance to other areas of the company, i.e., manufacturing, purchasing, inventory and shipping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze drawings from Drafting when creating new parts and BOMs in the ERP system.
  • Determine if part(s) should be manufactured or purchased. Perform calculations to determine quantity, scrap, cost to load, etc.
  • Populate new part information into the ERP system.
  • Recommend new classifications of parts as necessary.
  • Create and maintain BOM and BOO in the ERP system.
  • Analyze new job releases from Drafting to create and maintain job contents in the ERP system.
  • Schedule jobs in order to drive purchasing requirements.
  • Create and update the functional processes as the business and/or ERP system changes.
  • Create and perform validation checks across the ERP system and correct discrepancies.
  • Provide ERP system related guidance to multiple departments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Business Administration or Information Technology preferred

Experience: 2-4 years' experience working in a product data management, product life cycle environment preferred

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of inventory terms, fabrication processes and engineer-to-order manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Must be able to compile, report and analyze data.
  • Must have strong mathematical skills to include algebra and geometry.
  • Must have professional and effective English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have strong and efficient computer skills. Previous experience with ERP systems (EPICOR a plus), Excel and Access.
  • Must be organized, detail orientated and be able to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must have experience with reading and interpreting blue prints.
  • Regular and timely attendance is required

Physical Requirements:

  • Position is in an office environment and will require working on a computer most of the day.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or grasp, reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
