SUMMARY:
The Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) Case Manager, Lead plays a crucial role in overseeing the BHIS program at Orchard Place, dedicating 40% of their time to direct BHIS casework, 60% to managing key operational tasks such as scheduling, treatment planning, and auditing. This position ensures the smooth execution of the program's mission by balancing direct client care with administrative oversight, quality assurance, and staff development. Services are provided in homes, schools, and community settings, aligning with the organization's mission to deliver compassionate, high-quality care.

Direct Client Services (40%)
Provides all essential services of the BHIS Case Manager as outlined below:
Teaches and coaches clients and families to improve their functioning within the home and community.
Promotes skill-building in communication, problem-solving, anger management, and social development.
Uses evidence-based interventions to modify psychological, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive challenges affecting client well-being.
Develops treatment plans in collaboration with families and ensures progress toward treatment goals.
Maintains client files and records in accordance with agency standards, completing necessary documentation, including intake paperwork, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
Maintains regular communication with referral sources, families, and relevant stakeholders.
Provides services in client homes, schools, and community environments, and transports clients when necessary, ensuring adherence to agency vehicle guidelines.
Program Management and Operations (60%)
Scheduling & Coordination: Assists scheduling for BHIS Caseworkers to ensure efficient use of staff time, proper caseload distribution, and alignment with treatment needs.
Treatment Plan Oversight: Assists with the development, review, and adjustment of treatment plans, ensuring they are aligned with best practices and meet the needs of clients. Works closely with Caseworkers to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.
Auditing & Quality Assurance: Assists with regular audits of client files, casework, and service delivery to ensure compliance with agency and regulatory standards. Identifies areas for improvement and works with the management team to implement corrective actions.
Collaboration: Assists with maintaining regular contact with the Director and management team to communicate updates, identify challenges, and ensure the seamless operation of the BHIS program.
Staff Development: Assists with training new BHIS Caseworkers, providing ongoing support, feedback, and coaching to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality services.

HOURS AND REMUNERATION:
The duties and responsibilities of the Lead BHIS Case Worker will generally be discharged within a forty-hour week. However, the needs of the program will dictate the Lead BHIS Case Worker's hours of work. Remuneration will be in line with education, experience, and training.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

GENERAL: At the time of employment and every three (3) years thereafter, the person shall receive a physician's certification of adequate health to perform duties. Must have satisfactory background checks and meet federal fingerprinting requirements through the Division of Criminal Investigation and the Abuse Registries (which includes child abuse, dependent adult abuse and sexual offender registries). At the time of employment and throughout employment with the agency, the person shall have a valid Driver's license and show proof of valid liability insurance on own vehicle.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must pass and/or complete: New Staff Orientation, Mandatory Reporters Training, Crisis Prevention Institute training, and any additional training required by the supervisor during the first six months of employment.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES: Minimum 3-5 years in BHIS or similar casework.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a social sciences field (or a non-social sciences degree with 2 additional years of experience). Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and team members. Experience in scheduling, treatment plan management, and quality assurance in a human services or behavioral health setting. In-depth knowledge of current theoretical approaches to counseling and behavioral interventions. Commitment to providing safe, high-quality services to children, youth, and families. Valid driver''s license and ability to meet the agency's motor vehicle guidelines.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and general correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from superiors, other employees, clients, and persons outside of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions, verbal and behavioral interaction, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical restraint of clients may be required on occasion. Walking, standing, and sitting required. Using hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is periodically exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
