Work Schedule:

  • Day Shift (40 hours weekly)

Job Overview:

This position is responsible for the day to day operation of the Hospice of Cincinnati Bereavement Counselors. The supervisor is under the direction of the Director of Grief and Support Services. Responsibilities include scheduling and assignments of team members, staff evaluations, employee relations issues and working within budget goals. The Supervisor will be responsible for all TriHealth Way of Leading processes and requirements. The Supervisor will continue to maintain clinical responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

Master''s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Chaplaincy LPC, LSW or BCC (Required)

4 - 5 years experience Professional counseling, social work, or chaplaincy (Required)

Counseling, Social Work or Chaplaincy

Knowledge of counseling principles with children and adults

Knowledge of community resources

Training in grief and loss

Crisis intervention

Stress reduction

Computer aptitude and knowledge of computerized medical records

Independent Social Worker Supervisor

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Other Clinical Pastoral Education

Job Responsibilities:

Assesses all bereaved clients presenting for services. Applies appropriate interventions for bereaved clients designated as "high risk" and knowledge/identification of complicated grief reactions. Develops care plan and provides ongoing support.

Provides professional grief counseling on an individual basis to bereaved family members, as well as community bereaved, to support grief issues and concerns.,

Facilitates varying types of grief support groups

Documents all contacts in the electronic medical record; completes bereavement assessments as well as documentation of ongoing contacts.

Develops collegial relationships with community-based professionals in order to facilitate referrals of HOC bereaved clients when issues outside of grief issues complicate the client's grief work.

Participates in grief support functions, including HOC Memorial Services; works with community members to offer large-scale grief consultative services in response to community-based tragedies

Oversees the day to day operations of the bereavement team, including scheduling, team evaluations, employee relations issues and working within budget goals.
