The Bereavement Coordinator is responsible to plan, implement, and maintain a bereavement program to meet the needs of families/caregivers from CovenantCare Hospice for up to one (1) year following the death of the individual hospice patient.
Coordinates the assessment and delivery of grief counseling needs and services (one-to-one, groups, and ongoing follow-up) to ensure timely and appropriate services are provided to family/caregivers.
Provides bereavement information and referral services to callers from the community. Expands and maintains community resource list as needed.
Participates in hospice activities such as in-service education, hospice personnel meetings, and relevant committees.
Provides bereavement support to hospice personnel coping with work related grief through one-to-one counseling, supervision of interns providing one-to-one counseling, and referral to community resources.
Assists as needed in evaluating and planning services to meet hospice personnel support needs (i.e., yearly retreats, weekly support groups).
Functions independently, but seeks and accepts guidance from other members of the interdisciplinary group, or from member of the community.
Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Master's degree in Social Work with qualifications of experienced clinical grief counseling.

This position requires mobility to move around from one area to another. The majority of time is spent sitting, walking, bending, stooping and driving. Employee must have the ability to lift loads not normally exceeding medium weight (35 pounds). Manual dexterity, keen vision and hearing accuracy are necessary in driving a vehicle.
Compensation Pay Range:
$23.62 - $32.16 per hour
A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $23.62 - $32.16 per hour. There are numerous factors taken into consideration in determining the actual offered rate of pay, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and consideration of internal and external equity.
