We are a professional staffing firm, working with organizations across the country to place exceptional candidates. Currently, we have a Benefits and Retirement Specialist (Hybrid) opportunity with premier financial institution.

Position Summary

The Benefits & Retirement Specialist is responsible for the administration, compliance, and strategic management of the company's employee benefits and retirement programs. This role oversees medical, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, and the company's 401(k) retirement plan.

The Benefits Specialist ensures compliance with federal and state regulations including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA, while providing high-quality support to employees regarding benefit programs. 

Your specific duties will include:

Benefits Administration
  • Oversee administration of employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and voluntary benefits.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit questions and issue resolution.
  • Manage employee eligibility, enrollments, life event changes, and terminations.
  • Ensure accurate benefits deductions and eligibility tracking within HR systems.
Retirement Plan Administration (401k)
  • Administer the company's 401(k) retirement plan including employee eligibility, enrollments, and contribution changes.
  • Coordinate with the retirement plan provider, recordkeeper, and third-party administrators.
  • Assist with plan compliance, nondiscrimination testing, and annual audits.
  • Support employee education related to retirement planning and participation.
ACA Compliance & Reporting
  • Manage ACA compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate preparation and filing of annual ACA reporting forms including 1094-C and 1095-C.
  • Monitor employee eligibility and hours tracking for ACA compliance.
  • Maintain documentation and processes to ensure regulatory compliance.
Open Enrollment Management
  • Plan and execute the annual open enrollment process.
  • Develop employee communications and educational materials.
  • Coordinate benefit enrollment updates within ADP Workforce Now and other systems.
HRIS Collaboration
  • Partner with the HRIS Manager to ensure accurate benefits data within ADP Workforce Now.
  • Ensure benefit elections, deductions, and eligibility data integrate properly with payroll and HRIS.
  • Support system updates related to benefits plan changes.
Required qualifications for the position include:
  • 3–5+ years of experience managing employee benefits programs.
  • Experience administering 401(k) retirement plans.
  • Experience managing ACA compliance and reporting.
  • Experience working with insurance carriers, brokers, and retirement plan providers.
Required Technical Experience
  • Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Experience managing benefits administration within an HRIS platform.
  • Proficiency with Excel and HR reporting tools.

Preferred Certifications

  • HR Management certification or equivalent professional HR credential.

Pay Rate Range: $65,000 - $75,000 for salaried positions

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and location. Employees have access to healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, and vision as well as a 401(k) plan.
