Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Benefits professional who is passionate about delivering an exceptional employee benefits experience. This role serves as a key partner in communication, administration, strategic planning and continuous improvement of the company’s health, retirement and wellness programs across the US. As a trusted partner to employees, HR leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams, this role will help drive operational excellence, strengthen employee education and engagement, and support the ongoing evolution of the company’s benefits programs and strategy.
This position is ideal for a proactive, solutions-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings deep expertise in benefits (health plan operations, open enrollment, retirement plans, vendor management) with exceptional communication skills and a passion for employee experience.
This is a fully onsite position working Monday through Friday, designed for a professional who values in-person collaboration, relationship-building, and direct employee engagement.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Job is an individual contributor and has no direct reports.
- Retirement Program Management: Partner with the 401(k)-record keeper on any escalated employee issues, support the accurate maintenance of employee records in coordination with payroll, lead the annual non-discrimination testing, 401(k) audit and 5500 filing and partner with the corporate and field HR teams to improve 401k plan education across all facilities.
- Health & Wellness Plan Administration: Partner with the benefits team, broker, and vendors on plan design strategies and enhancements. Act as a strategic thought partner in the review of plan utilization and engagement. Lead the annual Open Enrollment (OE) process including RFP review, vendor implementations, online website testing and data tracking. Provide overall communication materials, training, support, and reporting for plan elections and utilization.
- Customer Service: Responding to escalated employee benefit inquiries, contacting vendors as needed to resolve complex issues. Investigate for root-cause of any issues, coordinating across teams for issue resolution. Recommend and implement process or communication improvements to proactively prevent issues and/or improve employee self-service experience.
- Wellness & Education: Lead the development, coordination and delivery of wellness materials and overall benefit plan education across all facilities.
- Benefit Data: Audit benefit data for accuracy and compliance. Oversee the file feed process with benefit vendors, including resolving any issues/errors. Provide support for tracking plans’ financial information and all annual compliance reporting (RxDC, 5500 filings, PCORI, Creditable Coverage notices, etc).
- Executive Benefits: Support the Benefits Manager in the coordination of executive benefits as needed.
- This role has the responsibility to understand and place appropriate safety procedures in practice. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, and use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills:
- 5+ years of progressive experience managing employee benefits programs, including hands-on oversight of 401(k) administration, open enrollment planning and support, annual audit/testing processes, employee engagement, and vendor coordination.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, while proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and evaluating what could have been done better to drive continuous growth and efficiency.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with third-party administrators (TPAs), such as bswift or similar, to support employee benefits administration, including eligibility management, data reconciliation, issue resolution, and ensuring compliance with plan provisions and service level expectations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, (specifically Excel) with experience utilizing human resources information systems (HRIS), preferably UKG, to maintain benefits data integrity, generate reports, and support accurate HR and benefits administration processes.
Preferred Education:
- BA/BS or equivalent is preferred.
- SPHR or CEBs certification preferred.
Compensation/Benefits
The base salary for this position ranges from a low of $90,640 to a maximum of $135,960, with offers typically between the low and middle of the range, based on education, skills, experience, and internal equity among other factors. This role is also eligible to participate in the company annual discretionary bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
