Description Join our Americas Benefits team and shape the employee experience for thousands of colleagues across Canada. In this role, you'll partner extensively with internal stakeholders and external partners on the strategy, design, and delivery of employee benefit programs that meet diverse employee needs while navigating complex regulatory requirements-making a tangible difference in how our colleagues experience work at Amazon. As a Benefits Manager, you will lead multi-country benefit programs with a focus on Canada. Requires industry experience managing international benefits, strong organizational and analytical skills, and proven ability to manage multiple critical projects simultaneously. Responsible for developing and improving benefit programs and service delivery in a dynamic environment, identifying opportunities to support our diverse and rapidly growing business. Periodic travel required. Key job responsibilities - Design and Manage Benefit Programs - Develop and oversee Canadian benefit plans that align with Amazon's Global Benefits Strategy while meeting statutory requirements and provincial regulatory considerations across all Canadian jurisdictions. - Lead Implementation Initiatives - Oversee all implementation activities for approved benefit programs, including vendor selection, project planning, resource coordination, and documentation of processes and policies through program stabilization. - Ensure Governance and Compliance - Monitor benefit programs to ensure alignment with Amazon's benefit philosophy and compliance with federal and provincial legislation, while tracking costs, financial impact, and competitive positioning. - Support Expansion and Growth - Serve as a subject matter expert for expansion activities within Canada, including establishing new entities, launching new benefits, and implementing global programs across different regions. - Partner with Stakeholders and Vendors - Act as a trusted advisor to the International Compensation and Benefits team, local HR, payroll, and external vendors, while directly managing vendor performance and recommending standards for service delivery. A day in the life As a Benefits Manager, you'll focus on developing and enhancing employee benefit programs that serve our growing Canadian workforce. You'll spend your time collaborating with human resources teams, finance partners, and external benefit providers to ensure our programs remain competitive and compliant with evolving regulations. Your day might include analyzing benefit utilization data to identify gaps, meeting with employee groups to understand their needs, coordinating with legal and compliance teams on regulatory changes, and presenting program recommendations to leadership. You'll also work on special projects like launching new benefit offerings or redesigning existing programs to better serve our diverse employee population. This role requires periodic travel to connect with teams and stakeholders across different locations. Basic Qualifications - Experience managing international health benefits - 8+ years of relevant field experience - Experience in employee benefit plan design including healthcare, workers compensation and pension schemes along with associated complexities of plan administration, associated payroll processes, country level regulatory requirements and benefits program taxability - Bachelor's degree or equivalent - 4+ years of vendor management experience Preferred Qualifications - Experience in written and oral communication, including the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization (technical, business, executive) - Experience working proactively and independently, meeting deadlines, and delivering on projects and tasks - Experience driving improvement programs in the operations, engineering and support fields - Experience creating and implementing large-scale programs - Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service - 6+ years of vendor management experience Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
