About the Opportunity
LHH Recruitment Solutions is assisting a growing, multi-site organization with an experienced Benefits & Leave Manager to lead benefits, leave of absence, accommodations, and workers' compensation programs. This is a key HR leadership role responsible for ensuring compliance, enhancing the employee experience, and managing complex benefits and leave matters across a large workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Lead administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and COBRA.
Manage self-insured and group health plans, vendor relationships, renewals, claims funding, and plan performance.
Oversee annual open enrollment and employee benefits communications.
Direct leave of absence programs, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PWFA, disability, and workers' compensation.
Lead ADA/FEHA accommodation processes and return-to-work initiatives.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and leave regulations.
Analyze benefits utilization, costs, and trends to support organizational planning and risk management.
Supervise and mentor HR team members responsible for benefits and leave administration.
Serve as the primary liaison with brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
3+ years of benefits and leave administration experience.
2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Advanced knowledge of:
FMLA, CFRA, PDL, PWFA
FEHA/ADA accommodations
ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA
Workers' compensation administration
Experience supporting a large, multi-site workforce (500+ employees preferred).
Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, CEBS, or similar).
Experience managing self-insured health plans.
