Foley & Lardner LLP is currently seeking a Benefits & Compensation Specialist to join our team! The Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration and maintenance of the firm's health and welfare benefits and business professional compensation programs. Benefits-related responsibilities include providing responsive client service and appeal support, assisting with enrollments, maintaining HRIS system and related data, and coordinating ongoing eligibility file feeds with vendors. Compensation-related responsibilities include administering out-of-cycle pay adjustment requests, supporting the annual merit review process and related HRIS salary plan updates, coordinating participation in salary surveys to help ensure market competitiveness, and facilitating the Key Contribution Award review and benefit determination process.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain benefits-related HRIS data, including oversight of the annual benefits enrollment process
  • Maintain compensation-related HRIS data, including oversight of the annual merit review process
  • Coordinate participation in salary surveys to support market competitiveness
  • Administer the Key Contribution Award program
  • Provide input and recommendations regarding promotion and market adjustment compensation requests
  • Deliver benefits client service, including enrollment support, changes, employee education, issue resolution, and responses to questions
  • Serve as a primary contact for benefits vendors regarding plan administration and employee issues
  • Coordinate employee benefits enrollment to ensure all eligible personnel are enrolled accurately and in a timely manner
  • Communicate system discrepancies or issues to the HRIS vendor in coordination with the Payroll & HRIS Manager
  • Serve as a key member of the annual enrollment process, ensuring the system is prepared for use and enhancements are tested and ready for production
  • Create reports as needed
  • Act as liaison between health plan administrators and employees regarding claims processing and client service matters
  • Manage legal reporting requirements for welfare plans, (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, etc.) including preparation and filing of Form 5500
  • Maintain the performance management system
  • Create and maintain salary plans
  • Provide backup support for FMLA administration
  • Support Best Self Wellness incentive reporting
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience administering health and welfare benefit programs required
  • Previous HRIS experience strongly preferred
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Strong client service skills
  • Effective, empathetic interpersonal and communication skills #LI-Hybrid

In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The figures below represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be between the range minimum and midpoint based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.
