QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work in a structured environment while adhering to schedules and break times
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable working with multiple computer applications simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Comfortable participating in virtual meetings and online training
  • Ability to type 30+ words per minute

Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with health & welfare or pension benefit plans
  • Previous call center experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist plan participants with healthcare and pension plan enrollment, changes, and benefit questions
  • Provide exceptional customer service via phone, with opportunities to assist through chat and message center as experience grows
  • Build rapport with members while delivering accurate, timely, and compassionate service
  • Explain complex healthcare, welfare, and pension plan information in a clear and easy-to-understand manner
  • Review plan documents and knowledge base resources to accurately answer questions and anticipate future needs
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, privacy regulations, and company security policies
  • Accurately document customer interactions, case notes, and resolutions
  • Meet quality, productivity, and attendance expectations
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions and team meetings
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Normal Business Hours | No Weekends

Location Requirement: This position is remote; however, you must live within one hour of 2365 Northside Drive, Suite 300, San Diego, CA 92108 to be eligible for employment and occasional on-site requirements.

Position Overview
As a Benefit Customer Service Representative, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to assist plan participants with enrolling in and making updates to their healthcare and/or pension benefits. You'll provide exceptional customer service while helping members understand their benefit options and resolve questions with professionalism and empathy.

Following the initial training and onboarding period, this position offers the opportunity to work remotely, provided work-from-home eligibility requirements are met.

During peak enrollment periods, employees should expect to work 40 hours per week, with overtime as needed. During training and off-season periods, schedules may vary between 32–40 hours per week based on business needs.

This is a seasonal opportunity with the potential for continued assignments supporting other clients. High-performing employees may also be considered for full-time opportunities.
