Job Duties
Under the supervision of the Center Director, the Behavioral Health Counselor evaluates clients, provides behavioral health services for employees, and participates in behavioral health programs and presentations. Within the established guidelines set forth by the University of Florida Jacksonville Healthcare, Inc. and under the direction of the appropriate Administrator or Manager, ensure adherence to all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Provides exemplary customer service and ensures that a high level of customer service is provided by all office/department staff to our patients, who are also our employees.
Responsibilities:Essential Functions
• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop evidence-based treatment plans for individuals, families and groups.
• Provide high-quality individual, family, and group psychotherapy using evidenced-based modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, family systems).
• Perform crisis assessments and intervention, including Baker Act evaluations when clinically indicated.
• Manage complex and high-acuity cases, utilizing advanced clinical judgment and ethical decision-making.
• Promote patient autonomy and shared decision-making within a patient- and family-centered care model.
• Participates in supervisory consultation to ensure clinical quality, appropriate case assignment, and adherence to best practices.
• Function as a liaison between hospital-based services and community agencies to ensure continuity of care and successful care transitions.
• Collaborates with physicians, nursing, customer service and administrative staff
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, organizational policies, and documentation best practices.
• Travel up to 50%
Qualifications:Experience Requirements
3 years outpatient Mental Health/therapist work experience required
Education Requirements
Full Licensure: LCSW,LMHC, LPC required
Masters - Mental Health related field required
