As a Full Time, Behavioral Health Technician at Canopy Pines Recovery, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our clients. Your day will be dynamic, as you conduct regular rounds, meticulously documenting observations in real-time to foster a therapeutic environment. You’ll support essential processes, including admissions and discharges, assist with client transport, and facilitate engaging therapeutic and recreational activities.
In addition, your responsibilities will encompass routine drug screenings, room searches, and monitoring medication procedures alongside nursing staff. Responding adeptly to any behavioral or medical emergencies showcases your commitment to client care and safety. By maintaining professional boundaries and ensuring compliance with facility policies, you will contribute to a clean, organized environment that promotes healing and growth, making every shift an opportunity for impactful engagement and connection.
To excel in this role, a high school diploma or GED is required with experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, mental health, or residential services being highly preferred. Candidates should possess strong communication and observation skills to effectively interact with individuals facing substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. Proficiency in de-escalation techniques will be crucial as you navigate complex situations.
A current CPR/First Aid certification is preferred, or you should demonstrate the willingness to obtain it upon hiring. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is also advantageous, enabling you to assist in client transportation as required. Flexibility is vital, as this role may include working weekends, evenings, holidays, and overnight shifts, ensuring that you are available to provide essential support whenever needed.
