Location: Vallejo, CA
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks (option to extend)
Shift: Night Shift, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 5x8s, no set days, typically every other weekend
Compensation:$1,507 – $1,674/week (gross)
The Behavioral Health Technician (LPT) provides direct support and patient care in an inpatient behavioral health setting, helping maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients. This role works closely with the nursing and care team in a Psychiatric ICU environment and requires strong behavioral health awareness, calm decision-making, and the ability to support patients with acute psychiatric needs.
The ideal candidate has prior psych experience, understands safety protocols in a behavioral health setting, and is comfortable working overnight shifts in a high-acuity unit. This role is best suited for candidates who can balance patient observation, supportive care, and team communication while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
Support patient care in an inpatient behavioral health unit
Assist in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment
Observe and report changes in patient behavior or condition
Work collaboratively with nurses and the interdisciplinary team
Follow behavioral health safety procedures and escalation protocols
Document care activities and observations as required
Must be either a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT)
BLS required
CPI preferred; may be obtained on site
Minimum 1 year of psychiatric/behavioral health experience required
