Behavioral Health Technician (LPT) (Contract) – California (94590)

• Location: California, 94590

• Pay Rate: $1,306 – $1,474 (weekly)

• Schedule: Evening Shift

  • Hours: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

  • Shift Type: 5x8s (2nd shift)

  • Days: Variable schedule; no set days

  • Weekend Requirement: Typically every other weekend

• On-Call: None

Position Requirements:

• Must be one of the following:

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) or

  • Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT)

• Active state license required

• BLS (AHA or ARC) required

• CPI preferred (can be obtained onsite)

• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric/behavioral health experience required

• Mental Health Techs not accepted

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and indirect psychiatric patient care under RN supervision

• Utilize therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques

• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient assessments

• Monitor, document, and report patient behavior, symptoms, and vital signs

• Administer medications per physician orders and protocols

• Support patient safety, hygiene, and therapeutic activities

• Collaborate with healthcare team and assist with patient/family education

Additional Expectations:

• Participate in weekend rotations

• Adhere to safety protocols, including restraint/seclusion guidelines when necessary

• Comply with facility vaccination requirements
