Our residential program in Glendale provides 24/7 care for adolescents who need a safe, structured, and supportive living environment. As a BHT/BHC, you are essential to creating stability, reinforcing treatment goals, and supporting youth through their recovery journey.
Position Overview
The Behavioral Health Technician / Behavioral Health Counselor provides direct supervision, therapeutic support, and daily structure to adolescent residents. This role focuses on maintaining a safe and recovery-oriented milieu while supporting clinical programming and daily living activities.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise adolescent residents and support daily routines and structured activities
Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic residential environment
Observe, document, and report client behaviors and incidents accurately
Assist with daily living needs including hygiene, meals, and health monitoring
Conduct drug screenings in accordance with program protocols
Participate in therapeutic and recreational programming
Collaborate closely with clinical, medical, and leadership teams
Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and respectful communication
Uphold health, safety, and cleanliness standards within the residence
Perform additional duties as needed to support client care and program operations
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of 6 months of experience in behavioral health (1–2 years preferred)
High school diploma or GED required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Experience working with adolescents in residential or care-based settings preferred
Strong communication and documentation skills
Must pass required background checks
Possess or be eligible for a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
