Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a registered nurse, performs services to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients with behavioral health needs in the inpatient emergency department or ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities:

• In collaboration with the care team, provide a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment. • Continuously monitors and documents patients coping mechanisms and provides crisis intervention when necessary. • Provides input and recommendations to the clinical team to help develop the plan of care and assists in carrying out the plan of care for assigned clients. • Reports any changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to the care team. • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. • Must have critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED or in lieu of HS, GED satisfactory completion of UCHealth-administered basic competency test is required. • Preferred: Bachelors degree in a behavioral health-related field. • 1 year of related Behavioral Health experience required. • BLS within 3 months of hire. • CPI within 30 days of hire.
