Role Description:
We are looking for a Behavioral Health Manager. The Behavioral Health Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, and directing functions to ensure the effective operation of the unit. In cooperation with the leadership team, the Manager will be instrumental in developing plans, policies, and procedures to efficiently provide quality care. This position directly supervises nurses and PCTs in the unit.
What You Will Do In This Role:
- Design, implement, coordinate, and monitor changes as needed in a comprehensive clinical service program for Outpatient Programs for patients and their families, including treatment and educational services.
- Ensure effective, flexible utilization of staff within staffing guidelines, taking into consideration the staffs competency and patient acuity.
- Evaluate staff performance and work-related behavior per policies, obtaining information from appropriate personnel and utilizing effective coaching to enhance the performance of the employee.
- Model leadership behavior, set expectations for teamwork, and hold staff accountable for performance
- Demonstrate effectiveness in planning for future needs by budget preparation on an annual basis, monitoring monthly reports to ensure that the department stays within budget constraints
- You will participate in the organizations educational programs and support the community outreach program while maintaining advanced practice study.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Certifications:
- Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree in the field of Behavior Sciences preferred.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State in which you practice or must hold a Compact/Multi-State RN License.
- Current BLS is required.
- 5+ years experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting offering a variety of treatment modalities required; 2+ years of leadership experience.
- The eligible candidate MUST have experience as an RN in an inpatient behavioral health unit in an acute care system.
