Behavioral Health Clinicians within the Psychiatric emergency Service (PS) are vital members of a multidisciplinary treatment team. The behavioral health clinician works closely with nurses, physician assistants, and physicians in a fast-paced, high-stress environment and is under the clinical supervision of the psychiatrist. The behavioral health clinician completes psychiatric assessments, provides crisis counseling, and implements treatment planning for patients in the PS. The behavioral health clinician identifies appropriate resources and obtains collateral information as needed from patients, supports, including family members, friends, and outpatient providers. The diversity of the client population served, in addition to the treatment modalities utilized, requires interdisciplinary expertise and collaboration. The training responsibilities are assigned by the PS Program Leader in accordance with the training needs of the department.

  • Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling or related field

CliCliCspan Current MA licensure as an Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)

CspanCliCliCspan Certifications Must be credentialed by the CHA Medical Staff for practice in relevant clinical areas.

CspanCliCliCspan Previous experience Minimum of two years post-Masters degree experience with acute psychiatric population strongly preferred.
