Position Overview
Nulton Diagnostic and Treatment Center (NDTC) is seeking a Behavioral Consultant (BC) to join our Community-Based Intensive Treatment (CBIT for Kids) program. This is an innovative, multidisciplinary model designed to provide intensive, family-centered behavioral health services in home, school, and community settings.
Unlike traditional IBHS roles, this position does not include supervision of Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs). Instead, the Behavioral Consultant serves as a direct clinician and treatment lead, responsible for assessment, intervention implementation, and coordination of care within a collaborative team.
The BC works closely with a Blended Case Manager (BCM), outpatient therapist/clinician, psychiatric provider, and wellness nurse to deliver integrated, high-quality care that reduces hospitalization risk and improves functioning across environments.
Responsibilities:
1. Development and Revision of Functional Behavioral Assessment and Individualized Treatment Plans
· Complete comprehensive Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA)
· Develop and update Individualized Treatment Plans (ITP) based on assessment data and medical necessity
· Identify target behaviors, skill deficits, and measurable treatment goals
2. Implementation of the Individualized Treatment Plan
· Provide direct behavioral consultation and intervention services to clients and families
· Implement evidence-based strategies including behavior modification, skill-building, and emotional regulation
· Provide real-time coaching and modeling to caregivers to support generalization of skills
3. Documentation of Client’s Response to Treatment
· Document client’s response to treatment using objective, measurable data
· Complete notes in an accurate and timely manner
· Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding progress in treatment
4. Care Coordination and Team Collaboration
· Collaborate with treatment team members including clinicians, Blended Case Managers (BCM), psychiatric providers, and wellness nurses
· Participate in weekly team meetings and clinical huddles
· Coordinate with schools and other involved systems to ensure consistency of interventions across settings
5. Complete all Assigned Trainings by the Due Date to Stay Current with Practices and Guidelines
· Complete at least 16 hours of Department-approved training annually related to job functions and in accordance with the individual training plan
6. Attend Weekly Individual and Group Supervision as Directed
· One hour of face-to-face supervision per month
· Thirty minutes of direct observation of services being provided every 6 months
7. Maintain Regular Communication with Clients, Families, School Personnel, and Treatment Teams
· Provide services through home visits, school visits, and community-based interactions
· Support family engagement and participation in treatment
· Ensure interventions are consistently implemented across environments
